Therapeutic Activities

Exercise and Functional activities are used to improve balance, coordination, proprioception, and muscle recruitment. This helps decrease the risk for falls and functional decline. 

Proprioceptive Neuromuscular Facilitation and Total Body Balancing techniques are also used to assist in functional training, performance enhancement, and overall conditioning of patients to help them return to independent and full-functioning lifestyle.  

Transfer Training 

Transfer Training 

Teaches patients techniques to properly move in and out of a bed, chair, or wheelchair safely with minimal strain, using proper assistive device and body mechanics. Prevents injury and gives patients independence with activities of daily living.

PostureBody Mechanics Training 

Posture/Body Mechanics Training 

Educates patients on ideal alignment from head to toe in sitting, standing, or with movement. Exercises are prescribed to improve posture, strength, flexibility and mobility which reduces strain and risk of musculoskeletal injury

Work Ergonomics/Work Conditioning 

Evaluates work environment including desk setup, computer use, lifting requirements, tools used, and other occupational demands then provides guidance on proper positioning and body mechanics for injury prevention and safe return to work.

Gait Training 

Gait Training 

Assessment of walking pattern and retraining on proper mechanics through education, assistive devices like canes or crutches if needed, exercises to correct imbalance, and instruction on footwear selection to improve safety, stability, endurance and efficiency of patient’s gait pattern.
